MID-TERM 19th November

The focus of the presentation will be your concepts
- the rest of the semester will be then mostly spent
on the implementation.

So again make it clear and crisp what is the point of your concept.
How you deal with the data - what is special with it - what are the
challenges.
What are the different stages of the modelling process.
How is the data visualized / what does it tell us.
Is there an outlook towards a generative aspect -
can some new mutations/generations be brought up ?

Session02 - Getting Messy - Physical Modeling

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing
model obsolete.”
― Richard Buckminster Fuller

Evolution on of Ideas  - Game of Life

The Original Rules by John Conway:
  1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if caused by under-population.
  2. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives on to the next generation.
  3. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.
  4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.

Physical Modelling - Grain Landscapes
Physical Modeling - Fluids
Physical Modeling - Spaghetti Engine

Session01 - Digital Modeling - Grasshopper

so here is the summary of session01 with some grasshopper examples
network simulation with springs and forces in kangaroo
the springs keep the nodes together while the nodes repulse each other
the intensity of the repulsion forces is still randomly distributed
so here is the corresponding grasshopper file:

another basic kangaroo example
